Weifang University of Science and Technology is a full-time higher education university. University possesses 2,000mu, floor space of 493,200 square meters, total asset of 791 million RMB. Teaching research and lab facility values 65.5 million RMB, including 84 labs, over 30 multifunctional audio-visual classrooms and modern teaching facilities such as multimedia teaching centers and network centers and a library with 1,145,000 books. Teaching staff members are 968, including 275 professors and vice professors, 16 doctors and 33 foreign teachers. The full-time students amount to over 12,000.

University has Sino-india computer software institute, vegetable and flower department, electrical engineering department, foreign language department, finance and economics department, chemical engineering department, law and literary department, architectural engineering department, art department, basic courses department , 41 college majors, adult education center, driving training school, national computer proficiency test center, PETS test center, Mandarin training test centre, Shandong vocational skills training and evaluation center and so on.

University has distinctive characteristics in international education cooperation. University qualifies for engaging foreign cultural and educational experts and admitting foreign students and has established cooperative relationships with India, Ukraine, Holland, Korea , and Britain etc. Approved by Shandong People’s Government , University has established one independent secondary institute----Sino-India Computer Software Institute with Indian Gurukul University which realizes“studying abroad without going abroad”. In collaboration with Indian Pune University, university has established Sino-India Chinese Language Institute in India and Sino- India International Exchange Institute in China.

Taking full advantage of resource superiority of Vegetable hometown, University undertakes actively applied research and sets up many research units such as Jia Sixie Research Center, Vegetable and Flower Research Institute, Ecology and Plant Protection Research Institute, Fine Chemical Research Institute etc. Launching joint research program with Chinese Academy of Sciences ,University finishes provincial or ministerial research projects and wins many national patents.
